Purmerend - Zossen (day 1)

Hello everyone, welcome to yet another blog. This time we travel by car to the Baltic States. The next 3 weeks I will take you on a journey with a daily blog. Today the first stage, to a village just below Berlin in Germany.

This morning it was finally time, the 3-week holiday has started. Today the first stage. After breakfast, we loaded all our belongings into the car and started driving, leaving around 7:20 in the morning. First we drove to Apeldoorn to say hello to my brother, sister-in-law and my little niece. After about 45 minutes we waved them goodbye and the journey could really begin, on to Germany! Around noon, we stopped at a gas station to drink some coffee, eat a sandwich and for a toilet stop. After this stop we continued driving, straight to Zossen (our accommodation for today, a picturesque village just below Berlin). Until it started to rain so hard along the way that you had almost no visibility anymore, then we went off the highway to the nearest village to refuel at a large gas station and shelter from the rain. In addition, we saw a malfunction on the dashboard of the car and the indicators were flashing very quickly. At the gas station we checked to see which lamp was the culprit. It turned out that one of the brake lights was not working. Anyway, once we arrived at the accommodation in Zossen, we lugged our stuff inside and went to a pizzeria in the neighboring village to eat. After the delicious stone oven pizza, we walked a short walk through this beautiful, but deserted-looking village and eventually returned to the apartment by car. Tomorrow the journey continues, and we drive into Poland, where we will visit, among other things, a former POW camp (Stalag Luft 3) from the Second World War. More about this tomorrow, of course!
