Wrocław - Niemodlin (day 3)

This morning we first had breakfast and made lunch before packing our suitcases and putting them in the car. Once we checked out of the apartment, we drove to the historic city center and parked the car here to take another walk through the old city. During this walk we had coffee at a kind of pastry shop.

Once back at the car, we continued driving towards Katowice / Krakow, but this was still too far away to drive in one go. So we had already booked an overnight stay in advance, about halfway through the ride, in a village called Niemodlin. When we arrived at the apartment, we brought the suitcases inside and my parents first did some groceries. I took a break and took a nap to catch up on some sleep from the past two nights. When my parents returned from shopping, I grabbed a puzzle book and did some puzzling until we went for a short walk to the neighboring 'castle'. To our surprise, there were many deer walking on the (closed) grounds of the castle, unfortunately I had forgotten to take my camera with me. Then we walked further through a beautifully landscaped park by a lake to end up back at the apartment. I then grabbed my camera and walked more or less the same route, this time I was able to take (nice) pictures of the deer, the park, the castle and a beautiful church tower in the background of the lake. Back at the apartment, I picked up the puzzle book again and continued puzzling. In the meantime, dinner was being cooked, after which we had a nice meal. After dinner, I (you guessed it...) continued puzzling again. It is a quiet evening this way, which is in stark contrast to tomorrow. Then things get a bit more serious, we will drive to Katowice, where the nearby former concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz is located. More about this tomorrow.
