The bucketlist
Everyone has a bucketlist, things you want to do at least once in your live. So do I, especially if it's about countries or cities I want to visit someday. You can find out which countries these are down below, where I will highlight those countries.
Canada |
After I learned about Canada, I immediately fell in love with the beautiful nature of the country. When I saw more images and looked up some more information about the country, I only felt more attracted to the peaceful North-American country. Especially because of the beautiful lakes in between the high mountains and coniferous (as you can see on the photo on the side).
Besides that Canada is an enormous country with a thin population (in relation to). Because of that there is a lot of space for the nature to grow, which makes it vast. That's perfect to go on a roadtrip or to go camping (somewhere around a lake)... Sorry, I was already wandering of! Finally, The Canadians are well known for beeing a very friendly folk. They are just like the civilized Scandinavians but then of North-America. They are always willing to help where it's needed and above all very hospitable, sounds good! Still not convinced? Read these 7 reasons why you should must go to Canada according to the Dutch travel program 3 Op Reis (it's in Dutch)! |

(The) Philippines |
While watching a travel program on tv I saw footage of the Philippines passing by. This is where I also fell in love with the country.
The Philippines has a lot of islands that really looks like a typical tropical paradise and after some research on the internet I found out about the most well known island of them all: Palawan, where you can also find the beautiful El Nido. Besides that you can find the longest navigable underground river in the world, right on (or better said under) this island (see the cave entrance on the photo on the left). This river has a total length of 8,2 km, although the most tours are "just" 1,5 km long. The reason for this is because some parts of the river are too narrow for the boat to pass through. Besides that, The Philippines is a remote place in the far east, which is guaranteed for a completely different culture. I would really like to get to know about this culture, because there isn't much we know about the Philippine culture. For example, would you know how the Philippine cuisine looks like? |
Barcelona |
Everyone has been in the artisic city of Barcelona at least once... except for me! The Catalonian / Spanish city is full with (very recognizable) artworks of Gaudí with all kinds of winding forms.
Barcelona has some world-famous buildings as well, like the Sagrada Família. The construction of this basilica started in the 80's of the 19th century (around 1880 - 1885) by this same Gaudí. At first he thought he could finish it within 10 years, but as you know they are still building untill this day. While on the other side of the building they are already renovating it! Moreover the construction should fin-nal-ly be finished by 2026, after about 145 years of constructing it! Furthermore you will find the most beautiful stadium in Barcelona (in my opinion): Camp Nou. This stadium is home of my second favorite club (besides Ajax) in the world: FC Barcelona and the Catalonian team. The stadium opened in 1957 and has a capacity (after the expension a few years ago) for almost 100.000 spectators. I really would like to visit this stadium before it will be modernized by 2021. |

Tanzania |
Since my journey to Costa Rica in 2017 I'm blown away by wildlife (and photographing it). After I saw an episode of the Dutch travel show '3 Op Reis' on tv where they went to Tanzania they said the country is less touristic than South-Africa, to me this looked like an easy choice.
Tanzania has some well known highlights: the island Zanzibar (semi-autonomous status), the highest mountain of Africa: Kilimanjaro (almost 6 km high), the Ngorongoro crater and the most well known: National Park Serengeti. The main language in this African country is English and the main religion in this country is Christianity. |
