Whistler - Port Alberni (Vancouver Island, day 13)

Today we left the ski resort of Whistler behind us as well as the mainland of Canada, because from today on we will go to Vancouver Island for half a week. But first we stopped at Shannon Falls. The third biggest waterfall of Canada!

After that we drove on to Horseshoe Bay, where we took the ferry to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. After about two hours on the water, where we were surprised by a visited of a whale (couldn't take a picture sadly... ?) we arrived at the otherside. Once on the land again we drove on to Port Alberni, where we will stay for the night. We arrived at about 16:00 hour and we checked in the motel and we left our luggage in the room behind. Next we took the car again to do some groceries again and after that we drove to the quay of Port Alberni to have dinner at a restaurant. After dinner we returned to our rooms and looked at the possibilities for a whale safari boat tour which we will do tomorrow.
