Merrit - Vernon (day 3)

After breakfast we packed up our suitcases and checked out of the motel. After that we continued our way to Kelowna. After a couple of hours driving we arrived in this city. Here we went to Myra Canyon, via an 8 km long dirt road. In this canyon there's a bicycle trail on an old railroad track.

After 8 km driving on a (little bit) dusty road we arrived at the beginning of the bicycle trail. Here we rented some bikes fom the Dutch owner of the rental company (what else can it be...) and we got some information about the trail. He told us that the trail is 11 km long and along the way you'll cross 18 (wooden) bridges and two tunnels. This was a fun activity to do and seen the flat parcours there's not much effort needed. Most of all you can enjoy a beautiful view along the way. At the end of the trail we had to turn around and make the 11 km back. Once back at the beginning of the trail we returned the bicycles (and helmets, those are required... even for experienced Dutchmen and we drove the 8 km long dirt road back by car. At the end of this road we continued on to Vernon, where we will spend the upcoming night. Upon arrival at the motel we freshed ourselves up and for myself I took a little nap to take some rest. After that we walked to a Greek restaurant for some dinner. We arrived with beautiful weather, but the clouds in the sky looked very threatening all of a sudden and once at the restaurant it started to rain and there was also lightning. After dinner we walked back to the motel (in the meantime the rain had ceased) for an easy evening and a good night's rest. Day four brings us to Golden, what we're going to do there (and along the way) you'll find out tomorrow!
