Vernon - Golden (day 4)

After breakfast it was time to pack up the suitcases and check out. After that we started driving to Golden, where we're going to stay for the night. On our way we stopped by two boardwalks for a little hike. At these boardwalks you walk on a wooden floor across an ancient cedar forest, where the trees are 500 years old. At the entrance of the boardwalks there are warnings that you're in bear territory. Unfortunately we didn't see any bears... 

Then we drove on to the next stop along the road (the other two are also along the road). This place is called Bear Creek Trail and this hiking trail leads down to a waterfall at a wild flowing stream. Here we took some photos and then we had to walk (steep) up again... Finally we drove to Golden in one go, on our way we passed a time zone. So now it is 8 hours time difference with Europe (the Netherlands).

As mentioned before we will stay in Golden for the night, in a lodge at skiing resort. Seen the fact that it's not winter at the moment in Canada makes it a very quiet place and we have a spectacular view (sadly not from the room) on the Rocky Mountains! Tomorrow morning we're getting up early to make better use of the day. Because then we're going to all the well known lakes in Banff National Park, finally! ?
