Hinton - Clearwater (day 9)

Today we didn't have to get up that early, so I got up a little bit well rested to have some breakfast and after that to pack up the suitcase again to continue our way. The way lead us to Clearwater today, but first to Jasper to do some groceries. After that we could really leave (we encountered once again some elks, this time two groups with each a bull elk at the same place as yesterday). On our way we left Jasper National Park behind us and with that also Alberta and we re-entered British Columbia. Because of this we passed a time zone, meaning that there's once again 9 hours time difference with the Netherlands / Europe.

On our way we passed Mount Robson, where we stopped. Here you can find a visitor centre and a view on the eponymous mountain. However, as predicted the weather was being miserable with only rain and thick clouds. So not much of a view at the mountain unfortunately... ? We did however enjoy a coffee and a sandwich / cake. After that we drove on to Rearguard Falls, this is a very broad but low altitude waterfall. This waterfall is annually the place on earth for salmon (from the Pacific Ocean) to lay their eggs here. Unfortunately we didn't saw any salmon, but we did see a lot of wilde waves. From here on we drove to Clearwater in one go (except for a lunch- and toilet break). Here we will stay in some sort of bungalow for two nights at a camping place, where we first did some groceries and then had dinner at a barbecue restaurant. The coming days the weather forecast won't be promising. So we shall see what we're going to do, but you'll read that tomorrow!
