Barely back home from the holiday on Corsica and Sardinia and with mixed feelings, given the situation in Israel (and still a bit recovering from a cold), today's trip goes to Barcelona!
Today I packed the last things and late in the afternoon we went to the train station to catch the train to Schiphol Airport. Once we arrived at Schiphol Airport, we first dropped off our luggage and then went to the security check. This all went very smoothly, there was no queue. So we got through this in no time! This meant we had to wait another two hours at the gate before we could board. In the end we left with a slight delay due to the busyness. The flight itself also went very smoothly and after about two hours of flying we arrived at Barcelona airport. On the way we flew over Paris, where we saw the Eiffel Tower from the plane. Upon arrival in Barcelona we only had to pick up the luggage at the baggage carousel, this took a while before the first luggage arrived. Finally, we were able to pack the suitcase (fortunately it was one of the first on the baggage carousel!) Once outside we could immediately get into a taxi that dropped us off at the door of the apartment within a fifteen-minute drive. When we arrived at the apartment, the owner first gave us a tour and explanation of the apartment and then she showed on a map of Barcelona where the famous attractions are, how to get there and where the nearest supermarket is, etc. Tomorrow we will first do some groceries in the morning so that we can at least have breakfast. What else the day will bring is currently unknown, but you will find out tomorrow! :)
