Aquarium - cathedral of Barcelona - indoor market - Arc de Triomphe (day 5)

Unfortunately, today is already the last day in Barcelona. On this last day we have a visit to the aquarium on the agenda, which seems to be worth it...
This day started as always with breakfast and preparing the packed lunches. We then took the metro to the port of Barcelona, where the aquarium is located. The aquarium is a nice change from all the buildings we have seen in the last few days and it is nicely set up. Of course, we also saw many beautiful fish, sharks, jellyfish, other (weird) animal species (that also live in / around the water) and even penguins! After about two hours we were outside again and sat on a bench opposite the aquarium to eat a sandwich. We then walked to Barrio GΓ³tico, this is an old district in the center of Barcelona that (as the name suggests) was built in the Gothic style. In this district we walked to the Barcelona Cathedral, where we took a photo. Then we walked further through the neighborhood looking for a bar to have some coffee. Finally found. After coffee we walked further through the neighborhood, to the indoor market. We also walked through here. In this indoor market you can buy everything: meat, fish, herbs, nuts / peanuts, etc. Finally, we walked to the Arc de Triomphe, which in my opinion is actually more beautiful than the better-known version in Paris (and also a beautiful boulevard around it!) From here we walked (via the Picasso museum) to the metro, to take the metro back to the apartment. Once we got off the metro again, we walked to the supermarket to get some groceries. We walked back to the apartment with the groceries, where we relaxed for a while before cooking and eating. After dinner my parents took the metro to the Sagrada FamΓlia to see how it is illuminated in the evening. I didn't really feel like doing that anymore, so I stayed in the apartment to write this blog (that's why it's so early today) and to partially pack my things! Tomorrow we fly back to the cold Netherlands, you can read how that all goes in the last blog of this trip tomorrow.
