Orosei - Olbia - Civitavecchia (day 15)

Today is the last day on Sardinia. With breakfast behind us and packed lunches ready, we drove to Olbia, where we took the ferry to mainland Italy.

After a crossing of 6.5 hours, during which I mainly enjoyed listening to music and staring endlessly at the sea out of the window (in between I had a hot lunch in the restaurant of the ferry), we arrived in Civitavecchia (just North-West of Rome), on the mainland of Italy. The apartment for the coming night is located a stone's throw from the harbor. Once we checked in and brought our suitcases in, we immediately ate dinner (it was already almost 8:00 PM...). Dinner actually consisted of the sandwiches we had left over from our packed lunch, which isn't much, haha! Tomorrow we head north, driving along the coast to Cinque Terre. As the name suggests, this National Park consists of 5 picturesque villages along the coast, which is now even a UNESCO World Heritage Site (and therefore not accessible to cars)! We will not visit Cinque Terre tomorrow, that is planned for the day after tomorrow. So we stay there for two nights. Tomorrow the day will mainly consist of driving, with another well-known stopover (where we have been before...) More details tomorrow!
