RincΓ³n de la Vieja - SΓ‘mara (day 13)

Even though I haven't seen any monkeys yesterday evening in the trees above our lodge, I did wake up by their noise. It turned out they moved to a nearby tree. When my alarm went off I decided to get up, with the idea that today is the day I'm going to zipline for the first time in my life and that it will be through the jungle. How cool is that? But first of all breakfast. On our way to the breakfast room we saw some monkeys up in the trees. Shit... don't have my camera with me. Quickly going back to the lodge to pick up my camera and then run back to the trees with the monkeys to shoot some photos... nailed it!
After breakfast we had to wait an hour before we could start (it's supposed to start at 9 o'clock). Once signed in at the reception we were picked up by a guide. We followed him to the dressing room, where we fitted, measured and put on our gear and equipment. We were with a big group, so it took quite a long time before everyone was ready. When everyone was equiped with a harness, buckle and special gloves we were ready to go. It was quite a bit walking to the top, but when we got there we could finally start! First there was an explanation about the do's- and dont's and safety instructions. After that the first one volunteered to go. Just after about 5 people (including my dad) I decided to go. Just grab the cable, jump up so I could get buckled up and then go with the flow! The first cable was quite short and simple, but this was only the first of 9. The 2nd line was the fast line, this one was more interesting. But after the first cable the tension was gone I started to enjoy it. The most fun cable was the 7th cable, this one was about 200 to 300 meters long which is also the longest one. This one also passed by the restaurant. Here was my mother filming us. At the final cable there was also a medium sized iguana against the cliff, right away I took a photo of it. After this flying adventure, where I could play Tarzan for a while (have I mentioned how cool it was?) it was time to pack our suitcases again and drive for a while again, this time Sámara is our destination. This is already the last place we visit before going back to San José where we take the airplane back to Schiphol Airport. On our way we stopped for lunch, where also something bizarre happened...except for stray dogs (which are common here) there was also a chicken / rooster walking around. After a bird was picking at a piece of chicken of someones (abbondoned) plate the piece of chicken dropped on the ground. Not much later the living chicken / rooster walked up to the piece of chicken and started to eat it. It looked like it was enjoying its meal, the cannibal! Anyway, after the lunch we drove on until we arrived at our destination. After checking in it was time to relax, an hour later we decided to go hiking. Sámara is a coastal city located in a bay which is by the way a great surfing paradise. The hike became a beach stroll. When we walked far enough we walked the entire distance back. In the meantime it was already time for dinner, we went to the restaurant of our hotel to have dinner there. After dinner we walked a bit to see if there's anything to do in the streets in the evening. But that was disappointing, so we walked back to our hotel. For tomorrow we don't really have a schedule, so we are going to inform to see if there's anything to do. First of all another night to spend, buenos noches!
