San JosΓ© - Amsterdam (day 16)

23/6/2017

Opmerkingen

After waking up for the last time in a Costa Rican bed, it was time for breakfast (we finally had the opportunity to taste the breakfast of this hotel, seen the fact that we had to rush on day 1 and quickly had to take something for a drink and something to eat with us in the bus). After breakfast we packed the last things in our suitcases (although I already did it before breakfast) and after that we got picked up by the same driver that picked us up at the airport.
On our way to the airport we had a little chat with the driver and it turned out he had some Dutch vocubalary. Except for 'heel mooi' (very nice), he could also say 'doei, doei' (bye, bye) and 'goed' (good). When we arrived at the airport it was checking in and be gone. After a little less than an hour flying (where we saw the Panama canal and the skyline of Panama City) we arrived at about 16:00 PM (Panamese time), then we had to wait for 2 hours for the transfer to the KLM-Air France airplane. This was a Boeing 777-300 (just as big as a 747 'Jumbojet') and it was fully booked. That's about 400 people... You can imagine that boarding the plane took some time, but eventually the airplane took off at 19:00 PM (Panamese time). With movie (Brimstone, absolutely recommended!) and some music we flew over Ireland and England to eventually land on Schiphol Airport at 12:00 PM Dutch time. We were supposed to catch the train back to Purmerend station (despite the railroad constructions this weekend), where my uncle supposed to pick us up by car to bring us back home. This went a little different... When we walked through the arrival gate my nepwew Daniël was suddenly there as well as my sister. She came to pick us up by car and bring us home, and she would also cook for us. This is home coming, what a surprise! 🙂 This was is! I absolutely enjoyed Costa Rica, with a very diverse flora and fauna. I was amazed and ofcourse it nice to see wild life, I became quite fanatic at it to be honost... Costa 'mucho' Rico... La pura vida! I absolutely fell in love with this country! If it was up to me I would go back to the airport to catch a plane back to Costa Rica to explore the parts of the country where I haven't been (and animals I haven't spotted yet)! I hope you enjoyed my (travel)blogs /posts as much as I enjoyed my vacation!
