Tortuguero - Cahuita (day 4)

As I had described yesterday we left today by boat and bus from Tortuguero back to the restaurant with the butterfly garden. After swapping the boat for the bus we left with a good spirit, but after only 15 minutes driving we suddenly stopped. It turned out that there was a small accident in front of us with other busses. There was not much damage, but I don't what exactly happened and if there were any injured people and if so how much. But we were stuck here for at least half an hour, but finally we could continue our way.

Once arrived at the restaurant we had some lunch and after the lunch we got our rental car. After a briefing about the car and completing all the formalities we got in the car and drove of, heading towards Cahuita. Two hours of driving later we arrived at bungalowpark Malu, located at the Caribbean Sea. Once we had the key of the bungalow and the owner (of Italian origin) of the park showed us our rooms we dropped our luggage and drove to Cahuita. Cahuita is a village with Jamaican influence. A lot of reggae music, Jamaican food and a laidback sphere and the bungalowpark is just outside of this village. Upon arrival in the village we parked the car in the village centre we bought something to drink and some snacks and I bought a nice t-shirt. For the rest we just walked around a bit including to the beach where the sunset created a beautiful scenery with (palm)trees. For myself I was looking for some wildlife in the trees (yeah, I got the taste of it I think) and sure enough... I just spotted a sloth! Remembered what I said about it yesterday (see previous post)? ;) And ofcourse right away I took a picure of it! Back in the village centre we went to eat somehing (bbq chicken wings with an excellent bbq sauce). With a full stomach we drove back to the bungalowpark and dropped all our gear. We took our flashlights with us (in the meantime it was already dark outside and there is no public lightning) and on the same road we walked in the direction of the village (not into the village, but on our way towards it) to a bar close by where we had something to drink and after that we walked back to our bungalow. Here we just killed the time until it was time to get some sleep (it's only 21:15 PM). Tomorrow a relaxing day, breakfast at 8 AM and snorkeling is also on our program, but seen the fact that it's dangerous for snorkeling in the Caribbean Sea it's only aloud with a guide. We will arange that tomorrow, bacause snorkeling it something we definitely gonna do (then I can finally test out my new snorkeling mask!
