Sarapiqui - La Fortuna (day 7)

This morning I woke up way too early, but once again with the sound of howler monkeys and chirping birds (from that last one I made an audio recording of 25 seconds, you can play it with the audio player right next to this text) waking me up. After that I already packed up my suitcase and then it was alreay time for breakfast. After the breakfast we drove to the National Park in just 15 minutes, here we had an organized hike together with a guide.

Equipped with binoculaurs, a viewing lens (on a tripod) and a flashlight was our guide able to point us out all of the animals and tell us all about it. In doing so we saw iguanas, a sloth, an armadillo (unfortunately this one was too shy and fled before we were able to take a good look at it, let alone taking a good picture of it), poisonous dart frogs (2 different kinds), a rare kinds of hummingbird, a motmot, howler monkeys, a tarantula (hidden in it's hole), bullet ants (these are huge kind of ants of about 3 cm big, a bite of this kind of ant gives you a hellish pain for 24 hours long) and termites. After this guided tour of about 2 hours long we went back to te bungalowpark to pick up our luggage and headed towards La Fortuna. This was about 1 hour and 45 minutes driving, on our way we made a stop to have some lunch and after that we continued our way. Upon arrival at the next bungalowpark in La Fortuna (west of Sarapiqui) we dropped our luggage and walked around in the bungalowpark and after that we took the car to drive to the city of La Fortuna. Seen the fact that it was raining, we successfully looked for umbrellas. Once back in the bungalowpark we let usselves dry up and we relaxed a bit until it was time for dinner, that we had in the restaurant of the park. Tomorrow we have a couple of things on our schedule. A hike on the volcano Arenal (La Fortuna is located at the foot of the volcano, the best is to visit the volcano early in the morning because then you have the best chance for good weather), a visit to the Sky Adventure park, this is a park with 8 ziplines, a cable car and a suspension bridge for an adventurous experience. Besides this we also going to visit hotsprings near the volcano and a visit to a waterfall. Possibly that 1 0f these 4 activities (with exclusion of the Sky Adventure park, this is already pre-booked) will be shoves forward to the next day, otherwise there will be too much to do for just one day. So far the experiences of today and the plan for tomorrow and the day after tomorrow... Now it's time to go to bed again, tomorrow another actively day!
