Every year is the same question: "where are we going on holiday?" Always a difficult question... Especially in these times of international tensions. After some time, my father proposed visiting Tรผrkiye (Turkey) and asked if I would be interested in going. I had to think about that for a while!
Without getting too political, I had my principles for not going to Tรผrkiye (Turkey) for a long time. On the other hand, Turkey does have beautiful landscapes, a rich culture and history and delicious food. All in all, enough reasons for me to go anyway and to look at it with a positive outlook. After all, the opportunity to make such a trip does not come along often! As mentioned, the trip will go to (the western half of) Tรผrkiye (Turkey), but we will skip the big cities (Istanbul and Ankara). We will fly to Antalya and from there travel through the country with a rental car. Among other things, we will visit Pamukkale (known for its limestone terraces and Hierapolis, an archaeological site from the Roman era), Ephesus (also an archaeological site from the Roman and Greek eras) and Cappadocia. We are currently planning the rest of the route, so you can read where else we will go during my travel blog through Turkey! Not entirely unimportant: we will be traveling from September 4 to 18.
