Ouarzazate - Marrakesh (day 10)

With a needless to say breakfast on our stomach we got in the bus to return to where the trip started: in Marrakesh. This is where we will stay for two nights. On our way there we have done and seen some things!

Today we left the Anti-Atlas mountains, the desert, the volcanic rocks and the date palms behind us, and we drove, via the Tichka pass, which crosses the High-Atlas mountains for Marrakesh. On our way there we first stopped for a coffee break, after that we continued to the mountain pass. This mountain pass took us to the highest peak of our journey: 2260 meters high and according to the Michelin guide (which our guide uses) the road has about 800 curves. On our way we stopped several times to enjoy the panoramic views of the mountains, the valleys and the oases (this time of deciduous trees). After a while of driving we arrived at a restaurant where we had lunch. When we finished our lunch and wanted to go outside it appeared it had rained. Everything had gotten wet. Next we drove to the hotel in Marrakesh in one go. Due to the fact that many people were tired from the journey we switched the program, the things that were planned for today we're going to do tomorrow so that we have the rest of the day off. Once we arrived at the hotel and dropped our luggage in the rooms we went for a walk towards the old part of the city, more specific the souk (=market / shopping streets). We wandered of in this labyrinth and bought some things. After that we walked back to the hotel, when we almost arrived it started to rain. To close off the day we had dinner. Tomorrow we will go (back) to the souk amongst other things, but this time with the rest of the group and our guide. So you soon!
