Marrakesh - Essaouira (day 12)

After breakfast, we left Marrakesh behind us for the second time during this journey and drove to seaside resort Essaouira.

On our way there we stopped for a coffee break, after the coffee break we continued driving until we saw a bunch of goats standing in a tree (there was also a dromedary, with a youngster). This is where we stopped to take a picture. Later on we also stopped at a workplace where argan nuts are made into all kind of products. From oil you can use for baking until cosmetics. This is where they showed how it's done to crack the nuts open and how the oil is pressed out of it. After this workshop there was the ability to purchase any of the products. As soon as everyone was finished we continued our way to the hotel, where we said goodbye to our driver and our guide, but not before someone of our group took the floor to thank our guide and driver for this beautiful journey through diverse areas, cultures and landscapes where both of them got a little present to thank them. Once we arrived at the hotel we dropped our luggage in the room and went for a walk to the medina at the harbor in the bay, via the boulevard. This is where we spent the rest of the afternoon walking through the shopping streets. We also went to the old and modern synagogue, after that we had lunch in one of the many restaurants in that area. After lunch, we walked back to the hotel to relax for about an hour. Finally, we walked to the boulevard again where we had dinner in a restaurant there. After dinner (with a nice view over the Atlantic Ocean and with the sunset) we walked back to the hotel to close off the day. Tomorrow we will spend the whole day here, though we don't have a program. We will see what tomorrow brings us! :)
