The day started with a visit to Bled castle, which stands on top of a rock / hill directly against Lake Bled. This castle was built in the eleventh century, where there's also an exhibition and a demonstration about paper printing in the old times. After seeing this we contined our way to the Slovenian capital: Ljubljana. On our way there we first made several stops.
After we peacefully enjoyed our breakfast in the living room we drove to Bonj to visit the eponymous lake and waterfall. We also went to the Mostnica gorge.
After we packed our suitcases and put them back in the car we drove to the center of the village just a little further up ahead. From here on we hiked a bit before we continued to Bled.
The day started with driving on the Großglocknerstraße, this is a mountain pass over the high mountains. We expected to see a lot of beautiful snowy mountain peaks, but that was quite disappointing...
This morning we left after breakfast and drove onto our next destination. On our way there we first went to the Krimml waterfall. This is a big waterfall of 380 meters high, making it the biggest phased waterfall of Europe!
After a poor night's sleep it was time for breakfast. After breakfast we went to castle Neuschwanstein, after we first bought a vignette for Austria at a gas station.
Finally, it's time! After sitting still for almost two years thanks to the COVID-19 virus, which had and has taken over the world I can say today that I'm on vacation again. This time (by car) to Slovenia and Croatia. Our first stop was in the far south of Germany: Füssen! |
