Stobreč - Makarska (day 12)

This morning we first visited the old city of Split, where ruins of a big palace from the fourth century is located with structures from the Middle Ages. This causes a mix of architectural styles from different time periods. Besides that the popular series Game of Thrones was filmed here! After seeing this massive palace we continued our way to Makarska over the scenic coastal road.

Makarska is well known by tourists as it is a popular seaside resort. When we arrived here we first had lunch in the apartment. After lunch, we walked to the beach where we wanted to go snorkeling. Like I said earlier, it's a popular seaside resort. So to get to the water you really needed to jump over people, Unfortunately we didn't snorkel because of that, instead we just swam. When we were dried up again we walked to the supermarket to buy some groceries, after that we walked back to the apartment. In the apartment we freshened up and after that we went to a restaurant to have some dinner. After dinner (by now it has gotten dark already) we walked a short bit along the boulevard. Tomorrow we will go to Dubrovnik like I mentioned earlier, here we will stay for three nights!
