Füssen - Mayrhofen (day 2)

After a poor night's sleep it was time for breakfast. After breakfast we went to castle Neuschwanstein, after we first bought a vignette for Austria at a gas station.

Castle Neuschwanstein isn't even an old castle, it was built in the 19th century and already had tap water and electricity. It's more the architecture which inspired Walt Disney (who visited this castle at some point) for the Disney-logo. Unfortunately for us tickets to the castle are sold out until October. We did however climb the mountain from the parking lot until the castle (great morning work-out!), so we were able to see the castle from all angles, from far away and up close. Next we drove to our next destination: Mayrhofen, in Austria. Or actually a hotel just outside this ski resort. Upon arrival and once checked in we wanted to walk towards the village when we got our first bit of rain this vacation, luckily it was just a little bit. There wasn't really much to do in Mayrhofen, so we walked back to the hotel where we had dinner. So today we are done early, already at 20:00 H! Tomorrow we will visit a waterfall and after that we will drive until 'Bruck an der Großglocknerstraße'. The final destination for tomorrow.
