Bled - Ljubljana (day 7)

The day started with a visit to Bled castle, which stands on top of a rock / hill directly against Lake Bled. This castle was built in the eleventh century, where there's also an exhibition and a demonstration about paper printing in the old times. After seeing this we contined our way to the Slovenian capital: Ljubljana. On our way there we first made several stops.

The first stop was in the village Radovljica, where we visited the old but very small village center. Except for a beautiful view over the Triglav mountains among others there wasn't much to do here. We did buy some sandwiches at a supermarket for lunch. After that we drove on to the next village called Kropa. Before we arrived at Kropa we first stopped for lunch at the Sava riverbank (with once again crystal clear water). After lunch, we continued driving to Kropa, this is a mountain village known for the iron forges in the old times. In this village we walked around a bit and visited the iron forge museum, which was quite interesting to see. After seeing this village, we continued our way to Ljubljana. This was about 40 km driving. Once arrived in Ljubljana and after checking in into the apartment, we first did some groceries. Next we walked to the city center from the apartment. Ljubljana has a small center, everything is at just 10 minutes walking distance from each other. So we walked around a bit searching for a pizzeria. Eventually it turned out that a pizzeria is just around the corner of the apartment, so we had dinner here. Next we walked back to the city center. Here it turned out that two fanfare bands were playing, and majorette dancers were dancing to their music on the square. After seeing this we walked around some more until we had seen enough (and it started to get dark). So we walked back to the apartment, where we will spend two nights before going to the next country: Croatia!
