Khao Sok - Koh Lanta (day 15)

Today we had to get up early again, because we are supposed to be picked up at 8:00 AM by a minivan to go to our next destination: Koh Lanta! The day started with a quick breakfast, so we could board the minivan on time, the minivan also picked up other people from other lodges, and then we drove for about two hours to a central place.

Halfway there we stopped at a restaurant for a short break for something to eat and drink, but also to use the restroom. After that we continued our way towards the central place where even more people are. Everyone was divided per location, in our case Koh Lanta. We (and other people) are heading to this island and had to get in another van than which we came with, so we could continue our way. This is once again two hours driving, with once again a break halfway. Also, we had to take a ferry to the other side of the river. Once on the other side of the river it turned out that the captain of the ferry was quite bad at doing his job... Instead of doing a frontal  embarktment he hit the side of the boat against the quay! Also, it looked like the boat got stuck for a moment, but eventually it turned out alright with some patience (which the most Thai people have by the way). When the ferry final embarked we could continue our way to the lodge. On our way it started to rain a bit. Upon arrival and after checking in and leaving our luggage in the room we immediately headed to the sea to go snorkeling. Unfortunately there was not much to see, except for some beautiful fishes here and there. Maybe more luck tomorrow (if the weather co-operates ?). After snorkeling, it was time for the sun to set. Of course, I sat back and enjoyed it the right way; sitting on a swing at the beach, looking at the beautiful sunset! After that it was time for dinner, so I flushed all the salt water from the sea of under the shower, so then we could walk about 2 km to the center of Krabi. Unfortunately there was not much over there, except for local Thai restaurants. We decided to go back to the lodge, so we stopped some sort of tuktuk (a moped with a sidecar). This took us back to the lodge, where we enjoyed dinner. During dinner, we enjoyed a 'light show' as well, far away from here there was lightning. This is what we saw (there was no thunder, we witnessed this phenomenon more often in Thailand). After dinner, we decided to call it a day. Tomorrow another relaxing day on this island. The day after tomorrow we are flying back to Bangkok already to spend the last few days before heading back into the winter cold in the Netherlands... But first enjoy all the beautiful things here!
