Koh Lanta - Bangkok (day 17)

Today we left the last location before going back to Bangkok already. After getting up early (we would supposed to be picked up between 6:30 and 6:40 AM by a minivan) I had to pack up the last things in the suitcase which wasn't that easy. After finally completing this we were waiting at the reception for our transport. When that finally arrived we drove back to the ferry (after picking up some more people at other lodges on the way).

We crossed the river with the ferry and then we continued our way to Krabi Airport. There we checked in and then we had to wait for an hour before we could board. After an easy, fast flight (and a bit of a harsh landing) we arrived on familiar ground: Bangkok! After picking up our luggage we walked to the taxi stand and took a taxi to the hotel (the same one as last time). When we arrived there it felt like coming home again. I know the way by heart and can walk around on the auto pilot! Once checked in we left our luggage at the room and we went to MBK (Mall of Bangkok). This is a huge shopping mall, where you can find everything: from make-up to clothes and smartphones until foodcorners and even an arcade-hall and a cinema! Here we bought some souvenirs and had some dinner. When we were done shopping we decided to go towards the river to enjoy Bangkok by night from the boat. This is exactly what we did and after a while we hopped of the boat and we wanted to go towards Wat Arun to see it in the evening light. That's why we took a taxi, but this one brought us to the wrong place so we took a tuktuk from there to the right place. Except the tuktuk driver drove like a complete idiot with the speed! But we arrived in one piece and we walked to the docking station of the boats to take some pictures of it. Then we walked to the Grand Palace and did the same thing. When we had enough of it we stopped a taxi and told him to drop us off at the hotel, where we first went to the 7 Eleven to buy some drinks. After that we walked to the hotel to close of the long day. Tomorrow morning we have to be ready on time again, but not so early as today: at 9:00 AM. There will be a pre booked taxi to pick us up and bring us to the floating market (outside Bangkok) and the famously Mae Klong railway market (also outside of Bangkok).
