This morning my dad brought us some breakfast from the 7-Eleven, so we ate it at the table in our room. After breakfast, we would be picked up by a taxi booked in advance who would bring us to the floating market. It is approximately a 1.5 hour drive from Bangkok. This (overpriced joke) was quite funny to experience it, with the old ladies rowing their boats and selling their trades or preparing meals. This tour (with a long tail boat) takes about one hour.
Next we went to the also famously Mae Klong railway market. First we had some lunch there, and then we had to wait 1.5 hours before the train would arrive. The market, which leads through a very narrow street exists way longer than the railroad track running through it. This makes it a unique market, because every time a train has to pass (8 times a day) all the market salesmen has to pull in their trades and canopy. But as soon the train had passed all the trades and canopies are out again and everyone is back in business like nothing had happened! After this we drove back to the hotel in Bangkok, where we didn't know what to do next. But after an hour of considering what to do (it was already 17:00 PM) we decided to walk to an Indian restaurant. This restaurant is recommended by The Lonely Planet and TripAdvisor, so it must be good (even though it has only vegetarian food on the menu, from the south-Indian cuisine). The food wasn't really that bad! Next we walked around the block, where we bumped into an Indian temple where some kind of party or ritual was going on with (live)music. After a quick view we continued our path and decided to get a drink in one of the skyscrapers (Sathorn Square). On the 39th floor we enjoyed the view over the city (Bangkok by night) and our drinks, after that we went down again to go back to the hotel. Tomorrow is already our last day in Bangkok / Thailand (unfortunately). But first we will go to Dusit Palace, this is a royal palace and after that to Suan Phakkad Palace Park. This is a small collection of authentic wooden residences that was owned by a former queen and before that it used to be a lettuce farm. Finally, maybe buying some last things.
